CopperRoots, a story that begins with copper but isn't limited to making jewelry.

It all started with the desire to create things touched by hand, bearing traces, and having a story, instead of mass-produced, identical items.

I am Burcu. I am the designer, maker, and the person behind CopperRoots.

I love copper because it's imperfect. It takes shape as it's hammered, changes with fire, and gains its own color and patina over time. In fact, it's a bit like people.

That's why at CopperRoots, I don't try to produce flawless and identical pieces. Each design has subtle differences, traces left by handcrafting, and a surface that will change over time.

Designs rooted in the past, belonging to today

In CopperRoots designs, I draw inspiration from nature, ancient symbols, Anatolia, traces left by different cultures, and sometimes just life itself.

The sun, roots, cycles, night and day, new beginnings, remembering, transforming…

Instead of using a symbol just because it looks beautiful, I'm interested in what it means.

Then I transfer that story to copper.

I cut.
I hammer.
I engrave.
I heat it with fire.
Sometimes I don't like what I've done and start over.

In the end, what emerges is not just an earring, necklace, or bracelet; it's a piece that will continue another story with the person who wears it.

Why copper?

Because it's a living material.

Copper changes over time. It acquires a unique surface as it comes into contact with your skin, the air, and life. I see this change not as a flaw, but as a continuation of the piece's story.
